It may have taken a while to get the RIGHT power converter, it may have taken a few days to get some solid recipes, but on August 7th 2011, here i am making my FIRST crepe(this picture is actually probably number 10 or so haha, my first few were rough) on my machine, i know i am not wearing an apron or a hair net, but i am making a crepe none the less.
So here is the story of my FIRST crepe making experience. So i have my batter, i have my ladle, i have my spreader and flipper(i dont know if those are official names) i am sitting there staring at the fully heated griddle/stone cooking surface. And i just thought, this is the beginning of my crepe making adventure...this is the beginning of success!!....so i filled up my ladle and poured it all over my griddle....first off it starts SMOKING EVERYWHERE, the crepe is burnt and stuck onto the griddle, i try scrapping it off, not much success...i look around to see if anyone is watching...luckily no one was watching. So i tried again...but same thing....man those French people made it look WAY easy....maybe i didn't season my griddles enough....hmmmmm.
So then my mom comes out, and says let me try it....haha good luck i am thinking to myself....she fills the ladle and pours the batter onto the griddle, spreads it in a PERFECT circle...the crepe looks sparkly gold on both sides, pretty much it looked perfect.....man do i feel like a loser...i am suppose to be the "Crepe Master", "Mark the Crepe Magician"...some people have even gone as far as to call me the "King of Crepes"...and here my mom showed me up on her first try. haha....fortunately i gathered up my self-dignity and started making some decent crepes by the end of the morning.
